I am a big fan of the work of designer and animator Andrew Higgins.
Andrew’s drawings are so simple, yet so evocative and not surprisingly, full of animation! The drawing above is a good example of Andrew’s work, which translated beautifully into the mosaic below. Actually the two mosaics themselves form a simple animated sequence, showing scenes before and after the big catch.”
The swirling water is a visual pun, paying homage to the ‘Noah’s Ark’ sequence of 13th Century mosaics to be found in the atrium of St Mark’s Cathedral, Venice.
