Over the past twenty years Martin Cheek has made mosaics for such public spaces as art galleries,
museums, restaurants and community gardens. Funding has come from various sources:
National lottery grants, the percentage for Art scheme, Arts for All and the Gulbenkian trust to name but a few.
Martin is very used to working with members of the public and introducing them to the art of mosaic.
This has ranged from six year old children – in the case of the Riverhead School Triptych (see Schools
commissions) to pensioners at Thanet Mind’s Garden Gate community garden - featured above
