Fattoria Lavacchiois an ancient Organic Tuscan farm of the 16th century situated between the towns of Sieci and Pontassieve on the top of the "Montefiesole" hill (450 m), only 18Km far from Florence.
The Lavacchio Farm holiday resort issurrounded by vineyards and olive groves, between incomparable landscapes and testimonies of the ancient presence of simple but great men, with fine taste. The landscape surrounding Casabella is well preserved and the ancient rural tradition has modernized itself in a moderate way.
The farm has been completely redecorated and furnished with great care in order to ensure the most unforgettable and comfortable stay to our guests.
With all it's varied facilities the Lavacchio farm holiday resort offers 4 different vacation possibilities: it is possible to lodge in either comfortable rooms or suites with private bathroom in "Podere Casabella" and “Podere Casanova” or in independent fully equipped apartments in "Podere Monterifrassine, or in an independent villa “Casa del Mugnaio” with private garden.
Podere Casabella is the main house where the reception, the swimming-pool, snack & bar “Il Cedro”, “L’Aja”, the dining room where a rich buffet breakfast is served every morning, living room with television, 1 living room with fireplace and minibar corner, the meeting room for 15-20 people with WI-FI connection, 4 double rooms, 1 junior suite, 2 suites, 1 deluxe suite are located.
Podere Casanova (250 m. far from Casabella in the direction of the Farm) is a quite dependance surrounded by vineyard with 2 double rooms and a suite. The dependence can be rented as a little villa with 3 rooms with bathroom, living room, kitchen, garden and private terrace.
Podere Monterifrassine ( a building 250 m. far from Casabella, but in the opposite direction of the Farm). In this building there are our apartments : 3 of them are for a maximum of 4 people, 1 for a max. of 6 people and 1 for a max. of 8 people. All the apartments are provided with a living room with cooking facilities, fire-place, fans, linen and towels. On the ground floor of the house there are a common laundry and common garden with barbecue, tables and chairs. In front od the apartments there is our gastronomic restaurant “Mulino a Vento”.
Casa del Mugnaio is an independent villa for 10 people, it is only 200 m. far from the wind mill and 550 m. far from
the main house Casabella, ideally for big family.
Every morning we serve our guests a rich breakfast buffet, with various delicious homemade jams and cakes, local hams and cheeses, fruits and yogurt.
From April to September you can enjoy your lunches and dinners at our snack and bar “Il Cedro” with bread tosted, typical cheeses, salads prepered with organic and fresch garden products appreciating the view on the swimming pool and vineyards.
At “Aja” we organise buffet thematic dinners: an occasion in order to understand the Tuscan culinary traditions of our region and meet other guests.
Our gastronomic restaurant “Mulino a Vento” offers a wonderful selection of Tuscan specialities prepared everyday with fresh and genuine ingredients.
You can easily visit the main important art’s cities ed enjoy the peace of the hill after a caotic day.
The farm is only 18 Km. far from Florence and is possible to reach it by car (30 min. more or less), by train or by coach. The nearest railway station is Sieci, you take only 10 minutes by car from Casabella. In Sieci there is a public free parking place. From Sieci’s railway station to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (the main station in the city) the way takes 20 minutes by train. There is a train leaving from Sieci in direction of Florence more or less every 40 minutes.
Fiesole is located in a near hill.
Siena and the neighbourhood are 80 km. far from Casabella (almost 1 hour by motorway), Arezzo and Val di Chiana are 60 km far from Casabella.
Every week we organise different activities connected with agriculture, pruning and cuisine to let you discover tuscan culture andd traditions. You can also practice sports in order to keep one’s figure and not feel guilty if you eat just a little bit more than the ordinary day.
OUR ROOMS
Eight rooms are located in the main estate house called Casabella, where breakfast is served, and the other 3 rooms in Podere Casanova 250 m. far from Podere Casabella.
Each room is provided with private bathroom with shower , television, direct dial telephone, internet plug, fan, heating and mini-bar.
Each room has been furnished with great care with typical tuscan country style and like the wines (from which they get their names), every room has its special “taste”.
